Virtual Exhibition “In the year of contagion”. The plague in the Kingdom of Naples (1656 – 1658)

The documentary reconstructs the outbreak of plague during the Spanish Viceroyalty in the spring of 1656, which was eradicated only two years later. The documents are mainly taken from Consiglio Collaterale and from the Segreterie dei Viceré, showing many similarities with present day Covid 19 pandemic.

The State Archives of Naples join radios all over Italy broadcasting “Canto degli italiani”. The Italian national anthem accompanies a selection of documents about the history of the unification of the South to Italy from 1820 to 1861.

Mostra fotografica dedicata alle figure femminili che hanno lavorato presso l’Archivio di Stato di Napoli.
Nata con la collaborazione di Flegrea PHOTO Associazione, con il patrocinio dell’Istituto dell’Enciclopedia Italiana Treccani e del Comune di Napoli, la mostra, pensata come esposizione in loco, è stata resa virtuale. Essa vuole presentare il lavoro di donne che hanno partecipato attivamente alla conservazione e valorizzazione della documentazione conservata in uno degli archivi più importanti d’Italia.
